Mineola ISD

We are pleased to announce that Mineola Independent School District (www.mineolaisd.net) have signed up for the Thinking Kit. As one of our early adopters in the USA, the district were happy for us to share with you that they are now customers. This is very exciting and it is hoped that in the coming year, we can share with you some of the ways in which the teachers and students in the schools there, use the Thinking Kit.

A quick update on last week’s events.

Both Talk on the Tyne 2 and the Art of Computing 2016 were organised superbly by Martin Bailey of Animate 2 Educate. The Thursday night ‘TeachMeet’ style event was completely fully booked. Every table was full of educators and people who wanted to share their ideas on teaching and learning, particularly with technology.There were some brilliant apps mentioned, a game of ‘Buzzword Bingo’ from Nina Jackson @musicmind and lots of applause.

Art of Computing and Talk on the Tyne 2016

This week we are pleased to be part of both of Animate 2 Educate (@animate2educate)/Martin Bailey's education technology events in Gateshead, England, Talk on the Tyne and the Art of Computing. Once again, Martin has pulled together a fantastic line up of speakers for the full day Art of Computing 2016 conference on Friday (10th June). The whole day looks set to be interesting and jam-packed full of exciting ideas for teachers to take away and try in their own classrooms.

Create your own iPad mystery competition

Would your students love to see their own ideas made into an iPad app? The fusion of our experience in collaborative learning research, developing iPad apps and an interest in Project Based Learning in the last few years, led to our creative competition, Our Mystery.
As a very quick summary, it offers UK years five, six, seven and eight the chance to come up with their own ‘Digital Mystery'.

Digital Mysteries demonstrated to royalty

A few weeks ago, our Director Dr. Ahmed Kharrufa was delighted to be visited by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal alongside senior Commonwealth leaders.
During a visit to Newcastle University’s Culture Lab, where Ahmed is a Research Associate, he was invited to demonstrate Digital Mysteries to the visitors.
